Hello!
This week, I thought it would be fun to share my favorite makeup products that cost under $20. You can get most of these at Target or Ulta, or most drug stores. I will list the price and where you can buy, for each product. I love finding affordable makeup that works just as well, or better than higher end makeup! I kept it to one product per category of makeup. To view any of the products, click the product name.
First up: Primer
Pixi By Petra Flawless & Poreless Primer Translucent
Price: Unfortunately when I bought this product online, it was $17.99. It is now listed on Target’s website for $22.49. If you wait for a Cartwheel on Pixi Beauty, and use your Target Red Card, you could get it for under $20. So sorry about that!
Where you can get it: Target
Why I like it: Fills in pores really well and smooths skin.
Foundation
COVERGIRL Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation
Price: $9.09
Where you can get it: Target, Ulta, or any drug store. I recommend somewhere other than Ulta, because Ulta did not have the full shade range.
Why I like it: So many reasons! It gives a beautiful satin, almost glowy finish. It is a nice medium coverage and lasts all day. Looks nice on the skin. My ONLY complaint is that the lightest shade 705 Ivory is still too dark for me. I am fair, but not that fair! I mix a little bit of NYX white foundation mixer to lighten it.
Concealer
Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer
Price: $6.19
Where you can get it: Target, Ulta, or any drugstore
Why I love it: This concealer covers really well, while still looking natural.
Setting Powder
Maybelline FIT ME! Matte + Poreless Powder in Translucent
Price: $5.79
Where you can get it: Target, Ulta, or any drugstore
Why I like it: This sets your foundation and concealer well, and looks nice on the skin. Plus I love that I can easily dip my brush in without having to dump any out, like you do with loose powders.
Contour
INGLOT Freedom System HD Sculpting Powder Shade 504
Price: $15
Where you can get it: Macy’s website
Why I love it: Contours that are a purple shade like this, work really well on lighter skin. It creates a shadow effect without looks muddy. I keep this in my Tarte magnetic palette.
Bronzer
Physicians Butter Bronzer in the shade Bronze
Price: $13.39
Where you can get it: Target, Ulta, or any drugstore
Why I love it: This product gives you a beautiful bronzed look without making you look orange. It also goes on so smooth..like butter maybe?
Blush
Flower Beauty Flower Pots Powder Blush
Price: $10
Where you can get it: Ulta.com or Walmart
Why I like it: These blushes give you a nice flush of color and last well. Also, how pretty is the product itself?
Highlight
Flower Beauty Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette
Price: $16
Where you can get it: Ulta.com or Walmart
Why I like it: I have never used a drug store priced highlight that is this good! It gives a gorgeous, wet highlighted look. Plus you get three shades. I don’t use the middle pink shade, but the champagne and gold shades are amazing!
Mascara
Essence Volume Stylist 18hr Lash Extension Mascara
Price: $5
Where you can get it: Ulta
Why I like it: This mascara gives you both length and volume. It almost looks like you are wearing falsies, hence why it’s called the “lash extension mascara”.
Eyebrow Pencil
Maybelline Eye Studio Brow Define + Fill Duo
Price: $6.99
Where you can get it: Target, Ulta, or any drugstore
Why I like it: This is a thicker brow pencil, which means it will lasts longer than micro brow pencils. I like the shades too, the blonde does not look green or orange, which I find to be a problem with some other brands. I don’t use the powder side much, but the pencil does really well filling in my brows. I am a natural blonde so my brows are pretty much nonexistent. Bonus points: they have an auburn shade!
Eye Shadow Primer
NYX Professional Makeup Proof It Eyeshadow Primer
Price: $4.89
Where you can get it: Ulta or Target.com
Why I like it: I bought this primer because I was looking for an affordable one with a wand. I much prefer applying my eye shadow primer with a wand versus a squeeze tube. This primer really helps my shadows stick, and last all day.
Eye Shadow Palette
ColourPop Give it to Me Straight Palette
Price: $16
Where you can get it: Colourpop.com
Why I like it: It’s hard for me to find a drugstore eye shadow palette I like. These ColourPop palettes are very pigmented and wear nicely. The glitter shades are to die for! I love this palette in particular because it’s a neutral palette, but you can add some glam with the glitter shades . Also, it is warm toned, but includes some pinks and purples. Let me know if you have any suggestions for drugstore palettes you like.
Lipstick
E.L.F Matte Lip Color in the shade Natural
Price: $3
Where you can get it: Ulta or any drugstore
Why I like it: This is a creamy matte lip crayon. It goes on so easily and won’t dry out your lips. You can also sharpen it if you want, plus you can’t beat $3.
Lip Gloss
Milani Amore Shine Liquid Lip Color
Price: $9
Where you can get it: Ulta, Target.com, or Walgreens
Why I like it: I am in love with these lip glosses! I need them in every color! They are so pigmented, you do even need a lip liner. They also last extremely well for a lip gloss, even after eating.
I hope this was helpful. Let me know your favorite affordable makeup items!
