Hello there!
First off, this is my first post in a very long time. I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday, whatever you may choose to celebrate! I fell off the wagon a little bit, and honestly I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it back. Blogging is a ton of work. I can see now how people make this a full-time job. I commend those who can maintain a blog, and work full-time. Instagram was starting to consume me, that is the main reason I took a break. It was becoming difficult everyday to find something new to wear. I have my favorite go-to outfits. It also became really expensive trying to keep up. I also found myself constantly scrolling through my Instagram feed, liking everyone’s post. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy seeing everyone’s post! But I would be out with my husband or friends, checking Instagram and scrolling through my explore page, mindlessly liking everything. Plus, I don’t know how you guys go outside and take pictures in this cold weather. I did find myself starting to miss it, though. I want to find a good balance between my full-time job, a personal life, and blogging. So I am giving it another shot. I also took some time around Christmas to get rid of a ton of clothes in my closet, so now I have room for new things.
So I decided my first post back would be about an app I recently started using called thredUP. It is a similar experience to thrift shopping, meaning they have all kinds of brands (including designer brands), at deeply discounted prices.
At first it reminded me of Poshmark, which I am not a huge fan of. But I feel thredUP is more user friendly and reliable. It looks to me that thredUP ships the items for you, versus waiting for the direct seller to ship to you on Poshmark
One of the great things about this app, is that it includes a description of the condition of each item. Some of the items are even new and still have the tags. The app sells clothing, shoes, jewelry, and handbags.
I purchased four items from the site for less than $30, including shipping. Shipping is a flat rate of $5.99. I found out about this app through a Youtuber named ThaTaylaa. They usually always have a discount you can use, too. Here is the website, or you can download the app https://www.thredup.com/
The first top I bought was a charcoal short sleeved top. The brand is Uniqlo. I love the fit and feel of this. It was originally $24.00, and I got it for $5.57. You could pair this with a ton of different accessories.
The second top is a grey Mossimo tank, with a gold sequin detail. I think the pretty gold detail is what got me, it is really comfy too. You could wear this under a blazer for work, or by itself in the summer time. I am wearing it under a cardigan from the brand A New Day from Target here. The original price was $12.00, and I got it for $3.50.
The third top is a super soft grey sweater, apparently I like grey. It is almost Spring, but you could wear this for Fall, Winter, and into Spring when it is still chilly out. I loved pairing this with jeans, but you could also wear leggings underneath. The brand is KimChi Blue. This was originally $60.00, and I bought it for $9.80. The necklace is from Target, I found it on clearance.
I bought one more top, it is a tank that I will save for when it is a bit warmer.
Thank you for checking out my first post back. I am excited to get back into blogging and fashion!
